Police were called around 6.20am this morning to Hazlebury Road, Fulham, to reports of a burglary at the address.

Officers attended and discovered a 73-year-old man who was inside the premises and had suffered a violent attack, Scotland Yard said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Other people were in the house at the time but none of them were injured.

Police have carried out initial house to house inquiries and are in the process of forensically examining the scene.

There have been no arrests at this stage and enquiries continue.

Police say they are “keeping an open mind as to the motive at this very early stage”.

Officers from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating.

Anyone with information call 020 7321 7228 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
