Tia’s body was discovered at her grandmother Christine Sharp’s home in New Addington, south London, in August this year, more than a week after the 12-year-old was reported missing.

It was decided on December 4 that no further action is to be taken against Mrs Sharp, who was arrested on suspicion of murder before being bailed, the Met Police said this week.

In a statement Scotland Yard added: “A 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender remains on police bail until mid-December.”

Mrs Sharp’s partner, 37-year-old Stuart Hazell, has been charged with Tia’s murder and is due to go on trial next year.
