A man who died after an attack in Lewisham High Street has been named by police.

Thierry Christian-Gnanakumar, 22, from Catford, was found by police with serious injuries at around 9.20pm on Saturday. Officers believe he was assaulted by a group of males outside Lewisham Library.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance but died in the early hours of Sunday. A post-mortem examination found he died from severe blunt force trauma to the head and face. An inquest into his death will open at Southwark Coroner’s Court tomorrow.

Three men were arrested in connection with the investigation into this incident and have been bailed to a date in November.
