Q. What is the philosophy behind Cheese and Biscuits and how did you get into food writing?

A. I didn't set out with any grand ambitions, I just wanted to write about restaurants. So there isn't a philosophy really, at least not a formal one. I just try and be entertaining, fair, and go to as wide a variety of London restaurants as possible. I can't remember how it started, but I think I just read other food blogs and thought I'd have a go myself.

Q. How do you go about choosing a restaurant to review?

A. If I've heard good things about a place, or if it's an invite to review (try and keep those to less than once a month though) or if I just happen to be passing! It's pretty random really, although I do travel if I'm after a particular type of cuisine that's traditionally under-represented in London (e.g. Mexican, Greek) and someone has suggested a place.

Q. With so many new restaurants popping up in London every month, how many do you manage to visit each week?

A. Some weeks the schedule is pretty packed... I've been known to eat out every day in a week and for a few lunches as well, but obviously that's an extreme example. I am lucky enough to have a job where I usually get to leave at 5:30pm and so I can fit in the restaurant-going evenings and weekends.

Q. What has been your favourite restaurant experience so far and why?

A. Difficult to say really, but possibly either a meal at l'Enclume in Cumbria with the family, or at Can Roca in Spain. Or maybe even one of any number of trips to Tayyabs in Whitechapel.

Q. If you could only eat at one place for the rest of your life where would it be and why?

A. Tayyabs I think. I'll never get bored of their dry meat and lamb chops, and I adore the place.

Q. Do you have any tips for budding food bloggers in London?

A. Don't expect to make any money, don't expect many people to read it for a little while, and don't give up.
