The Mayor is asking Londoners to nominate the people they know who are giving their time and energy to make London a better place for a Mayor's Certificate for Volunteering.

Full criteria for nomination:

• The individual must be based in London and their effort or contribution must benefit London or Londoners
• Their contribution should stand out from others doing similar work - exceptional either in terms of effort or the outcome which has been achieved
• Their activity or involvement must be voluntary and unpaid
• The individual has volunteered on a regular basis, or over a period of time or in relation to the riot recovery
• The voluntary work in question needs to be occurring currently, or in the recent past (within 1-2 years of nomination)
• Their activity should be associated with a named project, campaign, group, charity or organisation which is registered or otherwise verifiable and/or has made or is making a considerable impact on a person, group of people, or area within London
• Self nominations will not be accepted, nominations need to be made by a third party
