Olympic Park wins award for staying alive

Olympics organisers won an award for completing the Park in Stratford without a single death.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents honoured the Olympic Delivery Authority at a ceremony on Tuesday May 15 for a construction accident rate of just 0.17 per cent per 100,000 hours.

ODA Chief Executive Dennis Hone said: “We are honoured.”

The Chinese government admitted to six deaths during the construction of the Beijing Games.
