The re-election of Boris Johnson as Mayor of London was a serious political affair but some cheeky people couldn’t resist using the occasion as an excuse to ape around.

A very funny picture gallery showing 15 orangutans that look like Boris was posted online at Buzzfeed.

Some of the apes featured really do bear more than a striking resemblance to the Tory politician.

London24 can’t decide who comes off worst from the comparison – the orangutans or the Mayor!

In his latest YouTube video and in the wake of Saturday’s anti-austerity march, Russell Brand has called on people to ‘love the police’ and protest in the streets for better pay, better overtime and better pensions. This, he claims, is a new form of activism called ‘situationism’ which creates ‘spectacles which are provocative and interesting’. You can watch his Trews video below.
