The seven people who think they should be the most powerful UK politician outside of Whitehall are named on the list of candidates for Mayor of London published today.
In the order they will appear from the top of ballot papers, the nominations are; Siobhan Benita (independent), Carlos Cortiglia (British National Party), Boris Johnson (Conservative), Jenny Jones (Green Party), Ken Livingstone (Labour), Brian Paddick (Liberal Democrat) and Lawrence James Webb (Fresh choice for London).
Announcing the list, John Bennett, The Greater London Returning Officer said: “We’ve now announced the list of official candidates, and now it is up to the 5.8million Londoners who are eligible to vote to make a decision on who will run the capital for the next four years.”
Visit www.londonelects.org.uk for details on the campaign, including how to register to vote.
