Bradley Trimmer was with his 12-year-old girlfriend when they were both in collision with a grey Audi A4 in High Road, Chadwell Heath — near to the junction with Mill Lane — at about 4pm on Saturday.

Friends and family of the avid Arsenal and Doctor Who fan, who is in year nine at Eastbrook Comprehensive School, have inundated a Facebook page, set up by his auntie, with messages of support and offers of help to the family.

Critical

Chrissie Snell, 35, said the page will be shown to Bradley after his recovery.

She added: “The enormous amount of prayers and candles that are being lit for him is excellent.

“Even strangers are commenting. The support is brilliant, we are really pleased and we thank everyone for all their wishes.”

Bradley, from Dagenham, was taken to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel as a priority, where he remains in a coma on life support while doctors wait for the swelling on his brain to reduce. His condition remains critical.

“Everyone is in bits,” said Chrissie. “He is a very loving and thoughtful boy. He always puts others before himself. He is very popular and is loved enormously by his huge family.”

She added: “He is never left alone.

“The care he is receiving at Royal London Hospital is fantastic.”

Eastbrook headteacher Valerie Dennis said Bradley had made an excellent start at the school, adding: “Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. I know he’s fighting.”

Bradley’s girlfriend, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to Queen’s Hospital, Romford.

High Road in Chadwell Heath was closed to traffic for around two-and-a-half hours while air ambulance staff, a single response unit, a motorbike responder, three ambulances and police attended.

The driver of the vehicle, a 36-year-old man, stopped at the scene of the incident, police said. No one has been arrested.
