Robson shows skills with a drill

Archant

A rat donned a hi-visibility jacket and got to grips with a pneumatic drill to land a job at the London Dungeon.

Robson wowed judges at the famous tourist attraction in London Bridge.

He was vying to be a star in a new play about the Black Death - a new show about one of the most grisly plagues to hit Europe.

Other rodents taking party in auditions included Rusty the tightrope walking rodent, Ruby – who plays basketball and also Rita, who jumps through hoops.

The London Dungeon’s resident rat-catcher has a place on the judging panel.

“Performing is at the heart of what we do and we hold regular auditions to find the best actors for the horrible character roles we have here at the London Dungeon,” said general manager Ben Sweet.

“But auditioning for rats is definitely a first. We do already have a family of rodents living here, but they are not performers.

“For our new show, we really needed a rat who can take equal billing with our new Rat Catcher character and who will dazzle our guests and we’re sure Robson will fit the bill perfectly.”

Having impressed with his skills, Robson will be a star in Dungeon’s new Rat Catcher in Rat Walk experience.
