London has played host to the premiere for the first ever UK movie released as an iPad app.

The premiere for The Silver Goat, attended by the full cast and crew, took place on a Routemaster bus.

Director Aaron Brookner, said: “Making a film into an app is a revolution.

“Not only does it give the audience access to a ton of additional content, you can watch this movie anywhere and share it in seconds.

“For independent filmmakers, directly getting in touch with your audience is just invaluable.”

The ‘portable premiere’ lasted for 83 minutes – the same length as the movie – and took the audience around Chelsea, Royal Opera House, South Bank, the Almeida Theatre, a flat in Notting Hill and around the Thames, where the movie was filmed in 11 days in November 2010.

The iconic London locations form the backdrop to the movie; a film that combines psychological drama with dark comedy and follows the story of a stage actress that falls in love with an American playwright to the dismay of her father.

The film is available to download for a discounted price of £2.99 from today (May 11) at the Apple App Store for two days, after which time it will be priced at £3.99.
