Next of kin have been informed and a post mortem will be scheduled in due course.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

Officers from the Met Police’s road death investigation unit based at Alperton are investigating.

DC Jim Hastings said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Petts Hill around the time of the collision to come forward and speak to our officers.

“We are trying to build up a picture of the events leading up the collision, and of the collision itself.

“If you saw or heard anything, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, please contact us as your information may prove vital in piecing together the events of this tragic incident.”
