Cambridge beat Oxford in the famous boat race on the River Thames today - following a lengthy delay when a protestor swam onto the course near Chiswick.
Police boats arrived at the scene to pluck the solitary man following the disruption at around 2.25pm.
In an incident-pack race, the Oxford team lost an oar in a clash between the two boats soon after the race re-started near to Hammersmith Bridge.
That handed Cambridge an easy win in the 158th annual race between the universities, after being down in the contest when the protestor picked his moment to disrupt proceedings.
Oxford launched an unsuccessful appeal against the result straight after crossing the finish line.
Oxford rower, Dr Alex Woods required medical attention after he collapsed in boat following the end of the race.
