This year has been a complete washout so far, but you don't have to think too far back to when London was enjoying its hottest ever summer.

The hottest temperature ever recorded in London was 38.1C (100.6F) at Kew Gardens on August 10, 2003.
In an average year, the capital will experience 28 days that are warmer than 25C (77F) and four days where the temperature is over 30C (86F).
