A Tottenham ex-pat who swapped the High Road for the bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip has opened the world’s first luxury gun lounge.

Lianne Hellier-Heck, 32, has been on hand to welcome tourists through the doors of Machine Guns Vegas, located just half a mile from the Sin City’s notorious Strip, since its opening earlier this month.

Mrs Hellier-Heck, head of sales and marketing at Machine Guns Vegas, said: “It’s where the ultra-lounge meets the firing range. At the front entrance it’s very nightclub-y and then when you go to the back it’s a firing range.

“There are other ranges that are very successful; we are putting a spin on it. People are just going crazy with what we’ve done. If this one goes well we want to have one in every state.”

Born in Tottenham, Mrs Hellier-Heck grew up in Seymour Avenue and worked as a bar manager at Rudolphs nightclub in High Road, before emigrating to Las Vegas at the age of 19.

Two years ago, she married US-born Michael Heck, a former policeman, who managed a gun range in Las Vegas before becoming director of Machine Guns Vegas.

Describing her latest gun-toting venture as “unique”, Mrs Hellier-Heck explained: “This lounge is catering for the tourist - we load the magazine for them on the weapon. We have six very attractive women that have been in the military working on the shooting range.

“We are here to make sure a first-time shooter has a great time, we want everybody to leave with a good taste in their mouths and wanting to come back.

“If you shoot our M60 it will vibrate through your body - it’s the same gun that Rambo shot and it will just fill you with adrenaline.”

And unlike the UK, age is no limit if you crave the adrenaline Machine Guns Vegas promises. Mrs Hellier-Heck said: “We have .22 calibre rifles that we have a kids package for. If you’re over 100lbs and 5ft [tall] we will let you shoot.”
