A major London commuter route is suffering severe delays and cancellations this morning after a person was hit by a train just outside East Croydon station.
First Capital Connect said passengers travelling through the station could experience delays of up to 60 minutes on its services to London Bridge.
And train operator Southern posted this statement on its website: “Due to a person hit by a train just outside of East Croydon station, Southern services on all routes to and from London Victoria and London Bridge via East Croydon are subject to delay, alteration and short notice cancellation until further notice.”
It also advised passengers tickets would be accepted on any other reasonable routes until further notice.
Transport for London warned of “severe delays” on the Overground between Sydenham and West Croydon.
