Congestion as accident shuts A13 Canning Town flyover

08:39 14 May 2013

A serious accident during rush hour has shut the A13 Canning Town flyover going into London.

Motorists are being advised to find a different route or expect long delays.

The flyover has been closed westbound, and lane three of the flyover is also closed eastbound.

A secondary closure of the A13 westbound has been implemented at Prince Regent Lane.

Transport for London (TfL) said westbound tailbacks on the A13 are Goresbrook Interchange, and the A406 is also slow moving southbound from Barking Flyover.

Traffic is heavy and slow moving in the area with long delays.

The Woolwich Ferry is also not carrying traffic northbound due to the heavy congestion in the area, although the southbound service remains in operation.
