London Underground District and Circle Tube lines delays explained

Travel misery was suffered by passengers on the London Underground this morning,
Long delays clogged up the District and Circle line for five hours after the problem struck at around 6.30am.
The source of the problem was at Embankment.
A faulty circuit failed to switch on a signal for trains to enter the station, once a platform was clear.
This morning’s delays followed chaos yesterday when passengers on the Jubilee Line had to walk along the track, after a train broke down.
