Mayor of London Boris Johnson has continued his battle with Prime Minister David Cameron, calling on him and his government to stop ‘pussyfooting around’ and invest in the capital.
The Conservative mayor believes that money should be spent on Crossrail 2, a north-south link and other river crossings.
“This is the time to be ambitious about London and what it can do for Britain,” Mr Johnson said.
“One of the ways of doing that would be to commit to further infrastructure — Crossrail 2, more river crossings, a massive house building programme for the city.
“The government needs to stop pussyfooting around.”
A spokesman for Number 10 declined to comment.
