Overhead wire problems cause Kings Cross train disruption

Commuters travelling via Kings Cross station have endured a miserable evening after overhead wire problems near Stevenage caused trains to be delayed or cancelled.

East Coast mainline services to Peterborough, Hull Trains services to and from Hull, First Capital Connect services between Peterborough and Cambridge and Grand Central trains are currently experiencing severe disruption.

The incident has left some commuters waiting for on platforms fo hours or ultimately opting to stay in the capital for the night.

Tickets are being accepted on East Midlands Trains services between London St Pancras International and Sheffield / Leeds and also between Peterborough, Grantham and Nottingham.

East Coast passengers can also Virgin Trains services between London Euston station and Scotland and also between London Euston and Manchester.

Replacement buses are in operation in the Stevenage area.

Network Rail engineers will be carrying out essential work on the affected line from 11pm tonight.
