Chancery Lane Underground Station will be shut for safety reasons over Christmas and several Sundays while improvement works take place.
TfL said the closures will take place when fewer passengers use it, and said the reason is to redecorate the walls, floors and tiling, fix electrical wiring and create a new public address system.
The dates it will be closed to passengers is November 17 and 24, and December 1, all of which are Sundays. Then it will be shut on Christmas Day and will not re-on until New Year’s Eve the following Tuesday.
Customers will be advised to use Holborn station, a 10-minute walk away along High Holborn.
Peter McNaught, London Underground’s operations director for the Bakerloo, Central and Victoria lines, said: “For safety reasons we need to carry out this improvement work while the station is shut.
“To limit any disruption Chancery Lane station will be closed when fewer people use the station.”
