Commuters in London’s East End were affected by severe delays this morning as a result of a woman under a train at Mile End station.

The incident, which occcurred at around 6:00am this morning, caused the District and Hammersmith and City lines to be suspended between West Ham and Whitechapel, with a full service resuming on both lines by 7.15am.

A spokeswoman from the London Ambulance Service confirmed that they were called to the scene to treat a 25-year-old woman for back injuries. The woman was conscious and breathing, and was taken for treatment at the Royal London Hospital.
