The penguin enclosure at London Zoo may not be the most romantic place in London to propose to your girlfriend – but it was the perfect location for one Valentine’s Day lothario, who popped the question surrounded by the cute creatures earlier today.

He aptly opted to dress for the occasion in a smart penguin suit - a black and white tuxedo outfit.

Unknown to him, his nerve jangling big moment was watched on CCTV by a gaggle of female Zoo workers – who had no idea that their reaction to events on-screen was being captured for posterity too.
