A Havering Council spokesman confirmed that they were put up at Arnolds Field, Launders Lane, on Monday (June 25) to remind people of a 2004 notice served on the site.

The signs point out that people can be prosecuted if they dump waste there.

Cllr Jeff Tucker (Independent Residents’ Group, Rainham and Wennington) said: “This problem should have been sorted out years ago, action should have been taken against people dumping. These notices are too little too late. I’ve been calling for action on this site for years.”

Anyone who sees any dumping on the site should call the Environment Agency on 0800 80 70 60.
