A woman who failed her driving theory test for the 105th time in Ilford was just 27, it has emerged.
The most recent test was at the Driving Standards Agency centre in Ilford Hill.
At an average of at least 10 tests a year at the current price of £31 a go, the candidate could have spent up to £3,255 on retakes.
The woman’s identity is a mystery but she comfortably topped a national list of people who attempted the exam more than 15 times released by the Driving Standards Agency.
The theory exam includes hazard perception and multiple choice questions. Retakes are not limited but they must be at least three working days apart.
Both parts must be passed before a person books a driving test but theory is not needed for people driving as learners.
The pass rate for the car theory test was 61 per cent in the last financial year.
