The police watchdog is considering previous contact between the police and a woman who was found dead in Waltham Forest this week.
Aamena Hussain was found dead at an address in Grove Green Road just after 3.38am on Tuesday.
A post-mortem held at Queens Road Mortuary, Walthamstow, on the same day, proved inconclusive. Detectives are awaiting the results of further toxicology tests.
The 28-year-old’s death is being treated as suspicious.
A 33-year-old man was arrested at the address in Grove Green Road on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at an east London police station.
The matter was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) to consider previous contact between police and the victim and suspect. The IPCC has now confirmed that they will independently investigate this aspect.
