AFC Wimbledon striker Jack Midson has signed a new and improved deal with the club.

The striker netted 20 goals in his first season for the Dons and had been linked with a move to Rotherham United.

“It is quite flattering when there is interest in you, but my main aim was to stay at Wimbledon,” Midson said. “It would have had to have been a massive offer for me to go. The grass is not always greener and I am happy to stay at this club.

“It is no secret that I had a good year at Wimbledon, but it was the support from the fans, the staff and everyone at the club that helped me do so well in my first season here. We had to get a few things sorted out, but I am glad that the contract is done now as I wanted it sorted before the start of pre-season training.”
