AFC Wimbledon’s five-game unbeaten run came to an end tonight as they were comfortably beaten by League Two leaders Port Vale.

Vale took the lead after 13 minutes when Lee Hughes was left unmarked to head home Ryan Burge’s free kick from close range.

Then Ashley Vincent scored his first goal of the night after 35 minutes when his deflected strike wrong-footed Dons keeper Neil Sullivan.

Substitute Jack Midson went close for Neal Ardley’s side but they couldn’t get back into the game.

Vincent added his second goal 15 minutes from time after controlling a cross from Jennison Myrie-Williams.
