Kieran Gibbs demands Arsenal claim maximum points from their remaining fixtures
Kieran Gibbs has demanded that Arsenal win their remaining three Premier League matches to ensure they finish third in the table.
Fourth-placed Newcastle are now just three points behind the Gunners and have played a game less than Arsene Wenger’s side.
Alan Pardew’s side are hitting form at the right time and have won their last six games in a row to put the pressure on Arsenal.
The Gunners’ final three fixtures are away at Stoke this Saturday at home to Norwich before they finish their campaign with a trip to the Hawthorns to take on Norwich.
Arsenal’s superior goal difference would mean that nine points would virtually guarantee a top three finish and with it automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League group stage.
“It has been tight all season. A lot of teams are competing and anything can happen,” Gibbs told Arsenal Player.
“We have to finish the season strongly. The way we see it is that if we win our three games then we secure our position. We have three cup finals left to play.
“We shouldn’t lose focus now. We have nine points to win, and we have a position to secure for next season. We must do that.”
