Ryo Miyaichi missed out on Japan’s Olympic squad
Arsenal forward Ryo Miyaichi has been overlooked for Japan’s London 2012 Olympic squad.
The 19-year-old struggled to break into the first team at the Emirates and went on loan to Bolton Wanderers for the second half of the season.
But his performances were not enough to be selected in Takashi Sekizuka’s squad.
“We looked at their performances and their positions, and we discussed a lot of things in coming up with our list of 18 players,” Sekizuka told reporters when asked about Miyaichi.
