Arsenal full back Andre Santos believes his side can compete for the Premier League and other trophies next season.

The Gunners are 18 points behind leaders Manchester United with three games to go but are favourites to clinch third place after their 0-0 draw with Chelsea, coupled with Tottenham’s defeat against QPR.

“When it comes to a derby I think it was a good result - Chelsea are not an easy team to beat, they have excellent players,” he said.

“I congratulate our squad for their fight and now we need to work hard to carry on winning.

“We need to qualify for next year’s Champions League. We need to finish well and carry on next year to compete for the title.

“This is a big club and deserves better. All we want are trophies.”

The 29-year-old has made 13 league appearances for the club this season.
