Transfer news: Laurent Koscielny helped the club sign Olivier Giroud

Arsenal star Laurent Koscielny has revealed that he helped the club sign Olivier Giroud by telling him what life was like in north London.

The Gunners completed the signing of the Montpellier striker after France crashed out of Euro 2012 and the defender believes his words convinced the frontman to sign.

“I told Giroud that Arsenal is a great club, perfect to get better. I helped him make his choice,” Koscielny told RMCSport.

“He wanted some information, I did my job and I told him that Arsenal was a club where everything came together to make progress, whether at the stadium, the training centre or in the general atmosphere.

“I told him what I thought of the club and this is what has tipped the balance.”
