Jack Wilshere is ready to drive Arsenal on to a successful end to their season.
The 21-year-old England midfielder goes from strength to strength with every game as he looks to put a frustrating spell on the sidelines with ankle and knee injuries firmly behind him.
Wilshere produced a man-of-the-match display against Swansea last night to fire the Gunners into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a superb late winner at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger’s men will travel to npower Championship club Brighton next weekend looking to keep alive hopes of a first trophy since 2005.
Wilshere said: “Do I feel like a leader? That is part and parcel of my game and is the type of player I am - I like to pick the ball up, run at players and drive the team on.
“We all need to show a bit of character now.
“We knew we needed to get a result against Swansea and we all applied ourselves excellently in that game.
“We want this cup - it is a big competition. It was the last major trophy we won and we know what it means to the fans to get a trophy.”
