Arsenal star Thomas Vermaelen is looking to overcome a groin injury and be fit to play in Belgium’s friendly against England at Wembley on Saturday.

The Gunners defender is a doubt for the clash with the problem but he is determined to play his part.

“I’ve been struggling for a few weeks now with my groin,” Vermaelen told Sky Sports News.

“Of course, it’s a friendly game, but it’s a big game for us against England at Wembley.

“Everybody wants to play in that game and I’m doing everything to get fit to play in that game.”
