Mikel Arteta says the return of Jack Wilshere from long-term injury will give the Gunners a big lift.
20-year-old England star Wilshere is being eased back into first team training having spent over a year on the sidelines with a persistent ankle injury.
Arteta, who has come to the fore in Arsenal’s midfield during Wilshere’s absence, thinks the youngster will give the Gunners something different as they look to build on their bright start to the season.
“I think it’s going to be a big boost for everyone,” the Spaniard told Arsenal’s official website.
“He’s going to raise the quality in training. The fans – they’ve been waiting a long time.
“I know what it means when you’ve been out for a long time.”
Arteta says Wilshere is raring to go in training and has backed him to make a big difference.
“You can see how excited Jack is to get back in training and show how good a player he is.
“He’s going to bring something different to the squad - more quality to the team - and that can only be better for everyone.”
