Serge Gnabry wants to make his first team breakthrough this season
Young Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry says Arsene Wenger has promised him a first team chance and is desperate to show he has what it takes.
The highly-rated 17-year-old says he is ‘buzzing’ to be included in Arsenal’s pre-season training camp in Germany and says Wenger has encouraged him to make the most of the opportunity.
“The boss tells me that I have a good chance and I have to use it,” he told Arsenal’s official website.
“This season I hope to get some appearances in the Capital One Cup and even in the Premier League. I just have to try my best and hopefully train with them every day to develop myself.
“[Traning] has gone very well and I am enjoying being involved with the first team very much,” he continued.
“I wasn’t quite sure if I was going because I had some injury problems before. But when they finally told me I was going I was buzzing.”
