Arsenal transfer news: Martin O’Neill doesn’t know if he will bid for Nicklas Bendtner
Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill has yet to decide whether he will try to sign Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner on a permanent basis.
The Dane is on a season-long loan from Arsene Wenger’s side and has netted four goals in his last five Premier League appearances.
O’Neill was keen to praise the recent showings of Bendtner and admitted his form could be good enough to see more regular action at the Emirates.
“I’ve not thought about his future at all,” said O’Neill. “I’ve not mentioned it to him, there’s no point in putting pressure on anyone at the moment.
“He’s played very well and may think that with that type of performance he’s still capable of breaking into Arsenal’s squad.”
