Arsenal transfer news: Andrey Arshavin will not be leaving the Emirates

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that out-of-favour playmaker Andrey Arshavin will still be with the club after the Russian transfer window closes on February 24.

The 30-year-old has endured a frustrating season and has come in for some scathing criticism in recent weeks with Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville suggesting he return to the Russian league.

Both Anzhi and Zenith St Petersburg have been linked with a move for the forward who has found himself behind Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the Arsenal pecking order.

"I expect Arshavin to be here after February 24 and that is clear," Wenger said.

Arshavin has scored two goals in 30 appearances this season.
