Transfer news: Paris Saint-Germain are not going to bid for Robin van Persie

Paris Saint-German coach Carlo Ancelotti has denied reports that the club are going to join the race for Arsenal star Robin van Persie.

The Dutchman admitted last week that he is not going to sign a new contract, sparking speculation about where the striker will be plying his trade next season.

“Robin van Persie is not our goal but I think there are a number of other clubs who are interested in him,” Ancelotti said.

The Italian will be looking to mount a title challenge with PSG, who are owned by Qatar Investment Authority, next season.
