Frank Lampard lavished praise on Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as he impressed in England’s 5-0 rout of Moldova.
The Chelsea midfielder netted twice, while Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe, James Milner and Leighton Baines contributed to the Three Lions’ biggest away win in nearly 20 years.
At 34 years old Lampard is one of England’s old guard but he spoke glowingly of the country’s young guns, including Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley, believing the future of the team is in good hands.
“They’re brilliant, of course they’re good enough,” he said, adding: “Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was brilliant. He lit up the first half and it’s great to see players like that coming through.”
