Edgar Davids, who also played for Inter Milan, Ajax, Juventus, Tottenham and Crystal Palace, thinks Robin van Persie will be key for the Dutch

Holland legend Edgar Davids, whose playing career took him to Barcelona and Tottenham, believes that Arsenal star Robin van Persie will be critical to the Dutch’s chances at Euro 2012.

The former Inter Milan, Ajax and Juventus midfielder was a central figure in the Oranje teams that reached the Euro 2000 and Euro 2004 semi finals and he believes that the Gunners striker can fire Holland to the trophy.

“Robin van Persie has enjoyed an amazing year and possesses a very dangerous talent in front of goal,” said Davids.

“It’s no coincidence he has enjoyed really good health this season and if he brings his skills to the Dutch side they can go a long way in the tournament, especially as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has also been in terrific goalscoring shape this year.”
