Arsenal take on Montpellier in their Champions League Group B clash at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night - here are three key battles to watch out for.
Olivier Giroud v Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa
Former Montpellier striker Giroud is finally finding his feet with the Gunners following a £12million summer transfer, after five goals in his last five appearances. But Montpellier captain Yanga-Mbiwa, who has also been linked with a move to north London, will be out to shackle his old team-mate as the French side aim to keep alive slim hopes of Europa League qualification.
Santi Cazorla v Jamel Saihi
Spain midfielder Cazorla has picked up his form again after making an early impression since his move from Malaga, capping his superb performance in the 5-2 win against Spurs with a goal. Tunisian midfielder Saihi will be hoping for a chance to impose his game and stop the Arsenal supply line, which will not be easy with Cazorla involved.
Thomas Vermaelen v Souleymane Camara
New skipper Vermaelen had produced a couple of indifferent displays recently, but put some solid performances in after being switched out to left-back in the last few weeks. Senegal forward Camara will be out to provide Montpellier’s main goal threat and stretch the Arsenal backline. It will be up to Vermaelen to marshal Arsenal’s defence.
