Transfer news: Santi Cazorla is widely expected to join Arsenal in the coming days
With Arsenal awaiting official confirmation of the signing of Santi Cazorla from Malaga, his teammate Enzo Maresca has revealed the Spain international’s departure is complete.
Cazorla has also been linked with Tottenham but with Arsenal expected to announce the signing of the 27-year-old in the coming days, Maresca’s admission indicates the transfer will indeed be completed imminently.
The Italian midfielder fears the turmoil over the Malaga’s ownership could also mean manager Manuel Pelligrini follows Cazorla through the exit door.
“He [Pellegrini] is fundamental for us, just as Cazorla and Rondon were fundamental and who have had to be sold,” said Maresca.
Cazorla would be Arsenal’s third big money signing of the summer, following Lukas Podolski from Cologne and Olivier Giroud from Montpellier.
