Arsenal transfer news: Carlos Vela wants to complete a permanent move away from the Emirates

Carlos Vela has said he will do all he can not to return to Arsenal when his loan spell at Real Sociedad ends in the summer.

The Mexican has failed to established himself in the starting XI at the Emirates and has had loan spells at Salamanca, Osasuna, West Brom as well as Sociedad.

Manager Arsene Wenger has plenty of striking options with Robin van Persie, Marouane Chamakh and Park Chu Young all currently at his disposal.

Lukas Podolski is highly likely to complete a move from Cologne, while Nicklas Bendtner could also return from a loan spell at Sunderland.

Vela has been a success in Spain notching 11 goals in 25 league games for Sociedad and although the 23-year-olds current deal expires at the end of next season, Vela has no desire to return to north London this summer.

"Wenger is the one who must make the most important decision," he said.

"If he tells me I have to leave then I will look at my options. If he says I will stay then I will fight him.

"My intention is not to return to Arsenal.

"I don't know if I'm going to stay here at Sociedad. I don't know what will happen in my life next year.

"My registration belongs to Arsenal and I can't tell them to give me away as a gift to Sociedad because I'm happy here. They will want something back after all those years."
