Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Kieran Gibbs is England’s third choice left-back.
The Gunners star appears set to miss the game against San Marino with a thigh injury but the Frenchman believes Chelsea’s Ashley Cole and Everton’s Leighton Baines are ahead in England boss Roy Hodgson’s book.
“He has a thigh problem,” Wenger said. “He might be out for England.
“I believe Cole and Baines are ahead of him [in the pecking order] but it would have been a good opportunity for him to show he could have got in front of them.”
