Friday’s race, in sunny conditions from Great Leighs, offered a choice of distances, six or 10.5 miles.

On Saturday the action moved to Little Baddow for a hilly 10km race. On Sunday the route followed 8.5 miles across the fields from The Three Horseshoes at Mole Hill Green. The final race, on the wet and windy Monday, was along a muddy seven miles route from the Roundbush at Purleigh.

Points were allocated for competitors in each race relative to the time of the fastest runner. Final positions were based on the best three scores over the four races.

The event was won by Sean Ketteridge of Tiptree Road Runners who scored an impressive 299 points, out of 300 available.

GFDR was represented by 15 runners, with Gavin Foster taking part in all four races. Six GFDR members competed in at least three races with Howard Jardine leading, finishing in 35th position with 224 points, followed by John Hardy (55th) 199 points, Lee Prowse (58th) 197 points, Katia Jardine (59th) 185 points, Gavin Foster (69th) 175 points and Sue Harrington (71st) 169 points.

Ian Baines and Emma Pitcher took part in two events, with Jules Adams, Natalie Herbert, Peter Inman, Sarah Mclagan, Nick Perry, John Sandlin and Andy Stevenson each competing in one race.
