Kenyan duo Wilson Kipsang and Mary Keitany won the men’s and women’s races at the London Marathon.
Kipsang led for the final seven miles of the men’s event and just missed out on the course record in running 2:04:44.
Keitany won for the second successive year with a time of 2:18:37.
However, there was double joy for Great Britain as David Weir won the wheelchair race at the London Marathon for a record-equalling sixth time.
The 32-year-old won a sprint finish to take the title in 1:32:26 and equal Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson’s record.
“This is my favourite win ever because the field was so strong,” Weir told BBC Radio 5 live.
In the Women’s event Brit Shelly Woods ensured there was further success the Paralympians as she cruised to victory in the women’s wheelchair race.
