Paul Fairclough is in charge of looking for a new boss

Barnet director of football Paul Fairclough has revealed that the club are exploring all avenues regarding an appointment of a new manager.

The Bees are looking for a permanent manager after sacking Lawrie Sanchez in April. Martin Allen is the favourite for the role after his short-term stint ended with the club ensuring their Football League place for another year.

Fairclough told BBC London 94.9: “We’re taking it very seriously who we actually appoint. We’ve obviously not had the formula right for the last few years so we may do things a bit differently.

“We’re at a moment in time where we’ve almost got a blank piece of paper. The club is moving forward and it’s well known we’ve got a year left at Underhill.

“I’ve been looking at various models around the country. I want to get away from the scenario where the manager is the be-all and end-all of the club.

“Once I’ve found a couple of suitable candidates, I’ll introduce those people to the chairman.”
