Uwe Rosler was delighted with how his side performed in Lancashire last night
Brentford manager Uwe Rosler hailed his side’s first half performance against Preston as ‘near perfect’.
The Bees raced into a two goal lead thanks to goals from Harlee Dean and Clayton Donaldson and although Paul Parry pulled a goal back before half time the former Crewe striker struck again in the second half to seal the win.
“Apart from the penalty [against us] the first half was near perfect,” Rosler said.
“We stood very compact, we played a high line.
“We came here to compete and the question was whether we could.
“Preston have a lot of big units and have a direct and aggressive style.
“I told the players if we compete and took the physical challenge, football-wise, we were better.
“They showed that with the way we countered, passed the ball and looked dangerous.
“We had a good balance of speed and ball players in midfield.
“The two centre halves, apart from the penalty situation, were very good.”
