Brentford rounded off their season with a hard-fought win at Chesterfield.

The Bees were destined to finish in ninth place before the game began, while the Spireites were relegated last weekend.

Leon Legge gave the west Londoners the lead after 12 minutes when he headed home Jake Bidwell’s free-kick.

And Sam Saunders provided the assist for Toumani Diagouraga to double the lead.

Franck Moussa pulled one back for the relegated club but Clayton Donaldon made it 3-1 with 10 minutes remaining.

Mark Allott scored in stoppage time but the Bees held on to claim the win.
